With the coronavirus pandemic once again hijacking the world, social distancing and safety are of utmost importance. As Maharashtra is one of most affected states, the state government has recently imposed the night curfew along with many other restrictions to curb the rising COVID-19 cases. Now, producer Atul Kasbekar has slammed those who flouted restrictions while stepping out of their house to celebrate the festival. Calling it a irresponsible behaviour, Atul mentioned the dire consequences of people contracting the virus while playing Holi on the streets. If there’s evidence of people having been irresponsible publicly playing Holi etc; n then are found covid +ve. is it then fair to ask already stretched healthcare services to work overtime to save their butts? One sees images of rank public callousness n it really makes u wonder.’ Similarly, ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee also raised a question at the application of the government’s ‘strict guidelines’, which were recently laid down owing to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Mumbai. Taking to her Twitter handle, Devoleena questioned if the strict guidelines of the government do not apply to the people who were seen roaming out and around in the city despite the ban on the mass celebration. She also mentioned how she witnessed a group of almost 50 men riding bikes without masks, celebrating Holi without the fear of the restrictions imposed by the government as well as catching COVID. The actress wrote, ‘I witnessed today almost 50 boys on a bike ride without masks enjoying & celebrating holi as if they cant be touched by covid neither they care about your strict guidelines. Rules should be equal for everyone.Isn’t it??’ Later, Devoleena also took to her Twitter to get clarification over if she could step out of her sealed building to take her pet to the veterinarian as it hasn’t been keeping too well. Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 situation has gone from bad to worse with 56,211 more people testing positive for the infection in a span of last 24 hours.
