Rajasthan minister Rajendra Singh Gudha‘s statements regarding Katrina Kaif have stirred up a major controversy. Rajendra Singh Gudha, who is a Minister of State for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, made this remark during a public gathering in a village in Jhunjhunu district. In a video of the event that is now going viral on social media, the minister is heard saying that the roads should be like the cheeks of Hema Malini, adding she had become ‘too old’. He then went on to say that roads should be like ‘Katrina Kaif’s cheeks.’ After coming across the video, several netizens took to the comment section and expressed their displeasure over his statement. While one of the users wrote, ‘This is an offense against modesty of women’, another one commented, ‘From Hema Malini 2 Katrina Kaif, some politicians are still headless. Stop objectifying women; they aren’t products for your pleasure.’ Notably, back in the year 2000, when Lalu Prasad Yadav came to power in Bihar, he had claimed that the road of Bihar will soon be turned ‘as smooth as Hema Malini’s cheeks’. Not only him, but in 2019 another politician PC Sharma invited criticism when he said that his government will make Madhya Pradesh roads as smooth as Hema Malini’s cheeks. This drew ‘Dream Girl’s’ attention too and Hema Malini herself reacted to it in an interview and said ‘If politicians continue to bring in my cheeks as references to roads, my cheeks may soon begin to resemble those bumpy roads that are never smooth in spite of the promises.’
